Hey team, If you enjoyed the heart and humor of Dead Malls, you might enjoy my next campaign live today on Kickstarter!
Live now on Kickstarter... EVERVERSE: Superhero Fantasy Limited Edition Hardcovers! Absolute Batman meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer in this sci-fi fantasy series with sprayed edges and red foil stamping!
What happens when you don't pay your superhero bill?
In a world where billionaire superheroes charge a fee for their services, Kit Baldwin is a criminal for wanting to help others out of the kindness of her heart. She shouldn't want to help. The more she uses her power, the more she loses herself to it. But the city needs her. If she can help someone, she will, even if the cost is too great...
This campaign isn't just an opportunity for you to get all five books in the series in gorgeous limited edition hardcovers, including the latest book, BREAK POINT. It's a celebration. I started writing the series in 2016. I didn't know if I'd finish one book, let alone publish it. Ten years later, the series is on its fifth book. To celebrate, I am offering book one in the series, EVER THE HERO, in a deluxe foil hardcover edition!
- Red Foil Stamping Front/Back Covers and spine art by Douglas Duarte
- Custom full-color endpapers
-
Illustrated map of Break Pointe by Adam Bassett
- Custom-sprayed edges
- Custom full-color case covers
The Eververse celebrates the superhero genre while also challenging it, with a focus on character and consequence against a backdrop of epic action-adventure. Get all five books in the series and join the adventure!

Hey team,
You helped me bring Dead Malls to life in a big way, and I'm hoping you'll go with me on another journey. The page for my next Kickstarter campaign is now up... and we're going to the ends of the universe!
Follow the campaign here!
The Astra Idari Trilogy is my big epic space opera, so if you love:
🚀 Star Wars, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Firefly...
💥 An escape to sci-fantasy action adventure with a misfit band of fun, snarky heroes fighting for the fate of the universe...
✨ Romance between star-crossed (literally) lovers...
Then you'll want the complete Astra Idari Trilogy!
All three books (featuring cover art by the one and only Al Hess) will be available in a limited edition hardcover box set. You can see the proof set right here for the first time. It's GORGEOUS:
I hope you'll join me on this journey. The campaign launches in early March! Be sure to give the campaign a follow by clicking here!
Thank you for all your support!

All books have been delivered!!! 🎉
Guys, we've done it. Every copy of Dead Malls is out to backers. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know! Otherwise, that's a wrap on this campaign. Once again, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for making this my most successful Kickstarter yet. The reaction to Dead Malls has been overwhelmingly positive. I hope you enjoy the book, and if you do, would you please leave a review on Goodreads? Word of mouth is everything for indie authors, and I can honestly (finally!) say from personal experience that when a book gets even a little bit of a buzz, good things happen. Dead Malls on Goodreads. ❤️
While this campaign is over, my Kickstarter journey isn't. Join me on my next campaign, coming early next year, for Ever The Hero Anniversary Hardcover Edition!
Celebrate the fifth anniversary of EVER THE HERO, which Publisher's Weekly called an “entertaining debut that uses superpowers as a metaphor to delve into class politics in an alternate America,” with this special hardcover edition! Also, for new and returning fans, this is your first chance to get the next book in the Eververse series... BREAK POINT!
I can't believe it's been five years since Ever The Hero came out, let alone all that has happened since then. So I'm hoping you'll join me to celebrate this book near and dear to my heart in 2026. The art is not finalized yet, so more details to come. Please follow the campaign for updates on when it launches and all the amazing details on this special, special edition.
One last thing before I go: check out this upcoming campaign on BackerKit:
Twisted Yuletide features 13 stories, plus 2 bonus “gifts,” with three of our tales coming from NYT Bestsellers including Kevin J Anderson (Star Wars, Dune), John Helfers (Battletech, Shadowrun), Joshua Pruett (Predator, Avatar: The Last Airbender), plus Christopher D. Schmitz (Shadowrun, Gudnak), Jeri “Red” Shepherd (Gudnak, Legends of Avantris), and many more! Anthology of the Damned: Twisted Yuletide is jingling your way this winter.
THANK YOU ALL!!!

I dropped the last packages off at the post office today, and all copies of Dead Malls are in the mail!
You can see your respective tracking numbers on BackerKit. I'll give them a little time to get to you - some of you are overseas - and then I'll officially close the campaign. I'll have more to say then, but thank you so much for making this book a reality. I've been very pleasantly surprised by the response to Dead Malls so far. You helped make it possible at all - thank you so much.
Before I go today, let me share with you a new anthology I have a story in. If you backed my Stargun Messenger Kickstarter, you may be interested. A prequel to Stargun, "Astra Idari and The Drift Divoon," appears in Otherworldly Vol. 2, which you can get right here.
Shadowhearts, curses, and cats who take mysterious forms. A meal that fills you up, but makes you wonder. Space truckers, a falling sky, and a dust-filled apocalypse. A human-like machine and a machine-like human. Ancient sites and Nordic curses. And what genre fiction collection would be complete without dragons? Immerse yourself in these awesome page-turners!
For a second year, the fiction of award-winning, bestselling, and critically acclaimed independent and traditionally published authors from around the nation, with combined published works totaling over a thousand, is in a genre fiction anthology hosted by Nerd Street, one of the nation’s top pop culture event organizations. Enjoy single-seating reads of great stories and discover your next favorite author!
